Just a general question about the iPad2: I have heard that it has a superior DAC to the iPod Classic. Given this fact, is it more sensible to listen via a high quality LOD and amp, or is it worthwhile connecting a portable DAC via the camera connection kit?
If the latter is the case, would a Fiio E17 be a good choice, or would an iBasso D4 be better (I have read that neither the D6 nor the D12 works without a powered USB hub, and I suppose the same is true of the D7, as it is entirely USB-powered).
I would then be running the line level signal into an iBasso P4 and either GR07s or HF5s. The overall setup must be portable (i.e. battery powered).
