There's a number of Concrete Blonde songs that have a soothing effect on me, like Caroline. So much empathy going on there. You'll have to look for that yourself though, as we people in Germany get locked out of a lot of good stuff due to an ongoing royalties dispute. (In fact, the above Kimbra video doesn't work any more either, though it can still be found.) A real pain in the rear.
Minnie Riperton also is a joy to listen to.
