Good amp, but it's kind of pointless because he has a nice reciever. Ask him first.
I still say the ZO is a really nice gadget idea. It has a hi-gain mode that allows it to be used with another amplifer.
T50rps are also a nice choice IMO.

At least one member of head-fi has had his headphones stolen by his significant other for a photo shoot. I forgot who it was who posted about it.
I couldn't tell you what that costs, but I know that if my wife (or someone else?? lol) surprised me with racy pictures involving my headphones and various states of half-dress I'd think that would be considerably hot. And I suppose even if the pictures weren't risque I would still find it hot.
Not that the idea centers around headphones, mind you. It's been done before with guitars, baseball jerseys, etc. Heck, if you took out the "audiophile" part of "audiophile boyfriend," you really could fulfill this idea with whatever's in your closet. Or less.
If we're still talking about gear, the Objective2 is a safe bet.
Kinky photoshoot with the O2, captioned with "Let me show you my specs..."
Or something like:
"We will show you the heaven on earth..."
