NFL 2012 Playoffs Discussion Thread - Page 2

The Packers are known as a dome team this year.  There could conceivably be a drop in their longer pass plays, but the Packers actually have less explosive plays then you'd expect.  They love going to Finley over the middle, to Jennings on the seam, and Nelson on the out route.  cold weather alone (without slick conditions or strong wind) won't affect those plays much.

The Giants have the fewest rushing yards per game this season (89.2), but the Packers have an inordinately hard time with bigger backs (think Legarette Blount earlier this season) so they'll run the ball pretty well.  But playing at Lambeau in the playoffs is crazy.  The crowd is so loud when the opposing team is on offense that they could bungle multiple plays (especially with audibles) and so disciplined and quiet when the Packers put together their drives.  Weather/stadium conditions favor the Packers overall.

My team's out this season (again), but I'd like to see the Giants or Packers win it.  Anything as long as it's not the Saints, I don't want to hear it from my buddy.

The Saints are very, very good.  They've only gotten better as the season has progressed.  Nitpicking points are that Drew Brees could be more mobile, (normally doesn't matter as he has the best offensive line in the league, but with the Giants pass rush it's a concern,) and they don't play as well on the road/outside of domes.  Some problems defensively too.

Cowboys fan actually, I lived there half my life including the glory decade the 90s haha. I've been disgusted with how many games they blew at the last minute, I really wish they'd just wipe their secondary and start over.  I like how the Saints picked up Sproles, I thought it was a good move..Brees is playing really good now, as is Eli, these games look really good cant wait!

On one hand it gets better ratings for the league so i guess it's kinda cute.............but as far as me knowing whether some athlete is a "good guy" or whatever, well i can't say anything one way or the other as we just don't know. Tiger Woods was a "good guy" not too long ago. (Am i supposed to assume things because someone is overly religious?)

I want the Patriots to lose since my brother is a bandwagon of theirs, but then i also want the Tebow talk to die so.............

Bottom line is he was 10-21, played the right team at the right time and his run game and defense came up big for um. He made a few deep throws, well good for you but you still haven't really done anything in the NFL. (QBR is still awful)

The real game i'm looking forward to is the 9er game, as a kid i was a big Niner fan with Steve Young and Jeff Garcia + TO. I think that OT game where they came back against the GIants is the last playoff game at the stick no?? That place is gonna be going maaaadddd!!!! With that defense, run game, as long as Smith doesn't blow it i think they should be the favorites. You've got the 12th man on your side and the Saints are not as good outside the dome. Get your Homer Hankies ready!

I'll agree with that, but big oil rules..On another note, I don't think the Cowboys can win it with Romo, he's not clutch it's like he overthinks it, and I can't see him stringing together 3-4 games in a row (sometimes can't do 4 quarters lol) to win it all...Also nice to see McGahee come back to relevance..I've been in a fantasy league for 5 years, I really like that it has increased my knowledge of other teams/players I otherwise wouldn't know about..

the saint's OL is decent, i wouldn't call them the best though.  the g-men pass rush looked good last game only because the falcons have the worst OL probably in the whole NFL.  that game, i can see seasoned vets vs rookie team.  shouldn't be too hard.
