Which IEMs can I afford with 50$?

Hi.

I want to upgrade my iPhone earphone. I used the standard Apple ones, and curently I'm with a broken Sony Ericsson standard earphone.

The Apple's sound too clear for me and don't have bass, plus it's not in-ear. This Sony's have too much bass over the treeble.

So I'm looking for a V-shaped sound sig. IEM for my iPhone for around 50$. Is it possible to get a good one for this price?

If not, what price will I find something sounding like my ATH-M50s ?

(I will sleep with them)

Dunu Tridents. Great bang for buck, sound good and are extremly well built.

Now that you said, I searched about them and found on amazon Tridents for 40$ and Hephaes for 55$.

Is this correct? Because here on some topics they were 49$ and 97$ respectively.

The Soundmagic e10m will be out by the end of the month for $40. I have the non microphone version and find them very fun and musical. Really good bass punch and rumble with an overall clear presentation. They have good sparkle in treble to balance out the bass; and you would have iPhone controls inline.

that sounds like a very good price for the heaphaes... Get them, they are supposed to be a bit more refined than the Tridents, but overall a similar sound sig. The good thing about the Dunu's are they are very robust.

So Hephaes has same sound sig. but better details?

yes, more refined with more detail, and more controlled. But same fun signature. Go for them, you wont regret it.

So let's say, if Hephaes are really for that price ($54) I should go with them.

But if the price is wrong, I should not buy them for the 99 bucks they cost.

Right?

The Hephaes does not have the same sound signature.  Although they both have a V-shaped signature, the Hephaes have a deeper V-shape.  Detailing is about the same actually, Tridents take it with clarity.  The bass is much stronger with the Hephaes (but less controlled, but never out of control, compared to the Tridents) and the treble is still good.  The Hephaes and Tridents are equal in terms of SQ, Hephaes slightly ahead by a hair, but both are really equally good.  It really comes down to a question of preference.  They both represent a V-shape, but the Hephaes have a deeper V.

As for the pricing, the Hephaes are a good value at 99 bucks, but they aren't bang for the buck like the Tridents are.  They are definitely a huge bang for the buck at 54 though.
