In that case, make sure his dad shows him some of the more "accepted" headphone brands: Sennheiser, Beyerdynamics, Ultrasone, Sony, Audio-technica and so on.

Give him one of your headphones.

 

My buddy bought some beatz soloz and he thought dat it waz da shietz yo...until i let him try out some grados, ultrasones, and akg. In the end i lent him my grados and he never touched his solos again.
