Aurisonics Impressions and Reviews - Page 54

Well, I just recieved mine, and out of the box there is no lack of bass on my pair. Luckily, I dont seem to have any issues getting a seal, but the shape of the IEM itself fits a little odd in my ear. One of the strange things I have noticed about these, is that it requires less volume input on my iphone 4 than the GR07. The GR07 imo, required a much higher volume to get the clarity and involvement that the ASG1 exhibits at a much lower volume. Mirroring others observations, the ASG1 is definitely the best built iem I have ever owned. My only complaint so far (other than the slightly odd fit) is the highs, as clear as they are, are slightly fatiguing for me, though I expect this to improve with more burn in. I wont be a sensationalist just yet, but very early impressions are incrediblly promising.

Do give us more impressions :)

The more good impressions, the more you tempt me - its like a tempt-to-meter if you will

Dubbed, think of them as your new IEM version of your Denons...by all reports they respond well to EQ, and for bassheads that's always a good thing basshead.gif

Of course. But why not offer a rebate of equivalent value to international customers, rather than making them pay for the whole shipping costs?

As someone already posted a page or two back, they are only charging standard rates from USPS. Nobody can complain about that. They are already giving us an INSANE deal on what are obviously some of, if not THE, top universals on the market. Anyone here who is complaining about shipping...I'm sorry, its just absurdly foolish and I almost feel embarrassed when I think about how great Matt and Dale have been in dealing with us.
Bottom line: buy the phones or don't, either way quit WHINING.

When the issue doesn't affect you, it's surprisingly easy not to care and call other people whiners.

You also don't want to end up with a missing product, so it would be in your best interest to get it insured. You should go to the UPS or FEDEX website for a quote to your country, then you'll know what expensive shipping is.

USPS insurance is based on the declared price of the item. It isn't that expensive -- I talk from repeated experience.

How heavy is the ASG-1 packaging? I've just received an 18-lb package through USPS. I'll go and check the exact shipping costs.... $47.95 (to Taiwan).

Alright, it's a flat-rate box, so the weight doesn't count (within certain limits), but I'd still be curious to know how heavy the ASG-1 packaging really is.

I fear the repeated screwing and unscrewing would quickly abrade the plastic and stop holding the faceplate in place. redface.gif

It affects me I'm not complaining especially when Springtree is going out of their way to get them to international customers. Despite the expensive cost of the shipping, it's still a good deal considering the bang for buck ratio. I'm restating what others have said before but seriously, shouldn't we be appreciating their extra efforts?

I'm inclined to agree. Aurisonics and Springtree have been nothing but great to us so far in terms of giving us the phones at a heavy discount and even going so far as to look into alleviating some of the costs for international buyers. It sucks for those outside of the US, but a big company like Sennheiser would not go to these lengths to appease us and no one's pointing fingers at them.

Anyway, just got back from Hobby Lobby but they were closed unfortunately. I was planning on picking up some acrylic paints. I wanted to paint the right driver faceplate black, and then outline the AS logo in red, and paint the left faceplate white, and outline the AS logo in blue. Man... it would have been the hotness I tell you.

How about I PayPal you the $47.95, and after I do, we compare incomes?

To Taiwan, 2 pounds package costs $37.90 through USPS priority mail. 1 pound costs $34.25. Insurance is not included.

Sopp - any thoughts on the ASG-1 compared to the 1964-T? I think we are the only people I've seen with both. Seems like a good comparison, and I havent had a chance yet.

Here ya guys go: http://postcalc.usps.gov/

Depending on the box (maximum weight of 20lbs) where the otter box would fit, the price ranges from USD47.95 to USD74.95.

I don't think Aurisonics will take advantage of the shipping rate wink.gif Lame thing to do rolleyes.gif No need to 'get mad' redface.gif

Just need to clarify it  with Aurisonics/SpringTree. And I believe they said they already working on it.

We're still talking about the international shipping? Recall when the SM3 was the FOTM and at the time could only be shipped from France with early adopters from the states paying close to or over $500.  These are legit companies we're dealing with, not individuals where shipping isn't really negotiable now matter how cheap it can really be shipped.

Stand fast for my amped review.....
