Aurisonics Impressions and Reviews - Page 138

Just got my ASG-1's in the mail! The tracker was just sad as it didn't update at all so there were some problems there. Now I just have to wait for the impressions kit and AS-1b's here I come. There are a lack of AS-1b reviews so I'll try to get some first impressions out asap.

I've noticed this same lack of reviews. I plan to change that soon as I get my AS-1b's

anyone try other IEM cables for the ASG-1, i like the stock cable but finding it a bit too long. Also even though there is enough sub bass and impact but i don't think the bass is deep enough. I remember using Moon Audio Silver Dragon on my Um3x which gave extremely deep bass so wonder if anyone will pair the silver dragon with ASG-1

A little while ago someone tried pairing them with the UE Triple fi cable and a unbranded cable of eBay! They seemed to go down well with the user! My UE super for cable does not fit so I can not try which is a shame.....

How do you guys change the cables?

Also, calling all ASG-1 users! I'm requesting a little help. Check out this song and tell me how loud the cymbal is to you. It comes in on 2:26.

UPDATED from my website (08/04/12):

Here are my initial impressions however:
These were quite literally out the box impressions
So please, do remember that, as with burn-in they do change, quite significantly!

Here goes:
-Sounds like the IE8′s – very distant music
-Sound is very flat, but then every now and then u get mid spikes – I didn’t realise it until I heard it on certain songs, which made me almost jump
-Bass is present – nothing earth shaking, and out of memory the ASG-1′s are better than the IE7/8′s, better than the W2′s – not the same quantity as the C710′s nor TFTA, nor MG7′s though, but these aren’t supposed to be bass heavy earphones.
-Highs feel a little rolled off – EQ helps quite a lot here
-EQ plays quite a huge role in these, you can EQ them to your preference, and they respond very well
-No fit issues with the left driver, however with the right one, it was a whole different story: At first it was hardly was going in – and as I got the earphones off, the tip was stuck in my ear. These STOCK silicone tips aren’t the best for comfort or isolation with my ears (The Tx-500′s change this however, and quite remarkably)
-Wire is by far the best I have ever used – better than the Westone cables.
-Otterbox was/is a pain to open

Updates:
-After a few days of using them, I’ve had troubles with the fit, which means that I’ve had a little trouble of them being comfortable in my ears – I even had pain in and around my ears due to their fit, this is not in-ear fit (tips and what not) this is purely the shape of the earphones being uncomfortable on my ear.
Fit is very important in IEM’s, but when an IEM starts hurting your ears…that’s something else/more
-Isolation is good, as one can imagine – due to it covering your ear
-No problems out of the SGS nor ZO2 – no hissing etc.
-These change with burn-in

So far – I find that the music is far away from me, and everything is too precise (mainly mids)
That said, anyone contemplating the IE8/0 purchase should not even think twice in buying these.
These by far beat the IE8′s IMO (out the box)

After a little while of testing :
-TX-500′s = MUCH better fit, much more comfortable than the stock silicone tips

EQ on Poweramp (still playing around - but so far this EQ seems not bad...yeah CRAZY reduction in the mids):

Nice impressions Totally Dubbed!

Mine are still on their way and the tracker didn't update for 9 days, also not in my country's tracking system. frown.gif

Too much choice - so little "time"

MG7's vs ASG-1's vs MTD's

All in front of me ATM lol.

It's like picking candy :D

This is encouraging as mine are still on burn daily 8-10 hours & i'm hoping more changes. I think I'm around 80-90 hour mark now & will push to 200 hours before relaxing.

I would also like to clarify my personal comments on ASG-1 lacking sparkle.

My comments are  really directed from listening to Trance music in particular. This genre of music has lot of artificially created emphasised highs & that's why phones with strong V signatures tend to sound so well with it. . I don't find the highs as lacking  with almost any other genre. To my ears the highs are at a lot more natural level with classical/jazz/classic rock.. . I have never heard cymbals sound so enjoyable & fatigue free with phones. If a little more sparkle can be squeezed out that would be perfect as it would definitely help out with Trance/Electro genre that i'm a fan of.

Congrats Totallydubbed  !

Be patient friend. Burn & use the EQU.

My ZO2 does wonders...!

Loving the bass from the ASG-1's

Giving them some burn-in right now, and listening to the MTD's

Check my updated 2 pics :P

Nicely done. Though after being a member on Head-Fi, while my wallet may be empty, I don't feel like $299 for ASG-1's is expensive. Cant wait to get my AS-1b's, If they are anything like the great customer service I have gone through when ordering them, they're going to be amazing.
