Aurisonics Impressions and Reviews - Page 111

Isn't the cord your regular westone-style cable?

In that case I'm getting a clip-on.

received tracking number, not shipped out yet though. I just noticed that Aurisonics is now a Headfi sponsor.

Looks like a lot more people may notice the asg-1! Where did you spot them as a sponsor?

Their logo is on the sidebar where all of the sponsors' logos are, with an hyper link to their website included.

Took over an hour but finally popped up, there must be some rotation to the sponsor ads.

I'm looking forward to this :P!

Ya the directional sound is the best I have ever heard. There is just no other way to describe it. I was hearing every sound even faint ones. All of it is heard. Cleaner than any other set of cans I have. It just ruined every headphones I have ever used for gaming even over my A900X. That is something. I got mine burned in for a good 50 hours. It makes sense that these would be ideal for gaming.. Everything from the gun fire sounds. I can hear guys up stairs from where I was at and what direction they were shooting.. It has to be about as close to real live sounds I can imagine.. I know you game Dubbed. You gonna freak out. Lol!

Yeah, I bet gunfire sounds really vivid on the ASG-1...I remember thinking gunshots and other percussive sounds were very realistic.

Just received mine today. I'm starting the burn-in process and running the tip gamut. So far, I'm not too sure what to think of these. I seem to be getting a good seal with some single flange Shure tips that are a slight off-white grey color that I used on RE0s years ago. The sound can get offending at times, so I'm finding my volume on my Studio-V hovering around a low-mild 12-15 range, which is not all that loud. The sub bass responds nicely on certain songs, but overall, the bass is not where I'm wanting. The mid range is what keeps me rolling back the volume (just when I think I have it at a good volume). No comment on the treble yet. It has only been about 30 minutes with Bon Iver > DeadMau5 > APP > Anoorak > Tretemoller.

Got my Aurisonics today.  Bass is there, extremely punchy, but lacks both texture and impact right now.  Hopefully that changes with burn in.  My tip of choice right now is the Sony Hybrids XS size or stock smalls (I'm still comparing them to each other :p).  Right now I'm not hearing the "shoutyness" in the vocals everyone is hearing, I do hear the garage band sound-stage though.  A note concerning the Otterbox, it actually isn't as hard as you think it is to open.  It's still a tough box to open, but there is a technique.  Let me explain quickly.

The Otterbox is "spring-loaded", not literally, but it acts as if it is.  So in the closed state, there is a force separating the top half from the bottom.  The notch on the clip keeps these from separating.  If you just try to unhitch this clip, it won't work.  What you have to do is you have to clamp the box from both sides of the clip and compress the "spring".  Then using both thumbs, push up on the clip while stilling having the rest of your hands compressing the "spring".  This gives a little more room for you to begin moving the clip since there is less force keeping it shut in this instance.  If you keep the "springs" loaded, you'll have a tough time opening the box :p

A few notes:

  • I'm five feet tall, and only 107 pounds...  I can open this box without any problems right now.  I do have to try, but that's fine...

EDIT:

These fit snug on me...  Luckily my ears are just large enough to get a fit with them :p

EDIT 2:

I've heard burn in before...  Nothing like this.  It's like these IEMs are changing right before my ears...  Have been listening to them for the last 40 minutes (on and off) and the sub-bass is coming in more.  Can't wait for this to continue changing.
