It's just that for some it's not their preferred sound signature, and there's nothing wrong with that. I don't see that as any type of great debate here. I think many who have them love them. I can't get with the DBA-02 and didn't like the TF10 all that much until I found the right cable for it. I have a feeling that Aurisionics will remain a successful company, being one of the new kids on the block.
It seems that even our definition of "polarizing" is polarizing!
Seriously though, to my mind the ASG-1 is just like every other significant headphone/earphone out there. Some will love it, some will hate it, and others will fall somewhere in the middle. Isn't that the case with TF10, W3, W4, SE530, RE272, DBA-02, etc etc? As well as LCD-2, LCD-3, HD800, Edition 8, T1, HE6, etc? There will never be a universal headphone loved by all. I've even heard complaints about aspects of the Stax SR-009.
The beauty of a forum such as this - we get to share our experiences, what we like about the Aurisonics sound, what we don't, etc. And we even get to share our ASG-1 so people can try them out for themselves (I swear I'll get that going soon, minor delay came up).
