I haven't gotten mine yet, I'll let you know my personal results with my (what I think are) small ears.  People are always going to have fit problems with any IEM.  That's just the nature of it.  There is no IEM that is 100% compatible with everyone.  Most companies aim for a certain percentage it'll fit.  You won't know if you fall within the percentage (10% in this case) that it won't fit as it is based on a lot of factors like ear's shape, size, canal length, etc.

The EPH is warmer, and its separation shows through despite this, which is what I think makes it so noticeable; the ASG-1 on the other hand separates flawlessly; it's like the defensive line that makes everything run smoothly but you sometimes forget is there. Though if I could, I would take a compromise between the different ways they present treble; EPH100s seem to accentuate some higher frequency which the ASG-1 attenuates, though I can't isolate exactly what it is yet.

Wow, so your opinions changed quite significantly! Glad to hear it amigo

I'm very much excited to get my pair!

Going to be an eargasm of a week when i get them:
-Wood cups on the D2K's

-MTD's

-ASG-1's

Mind -> blown.

some, but with small ears by the looks of it.

More often than not its down to TIPS.

If the tip is right, then no matter your ear size (usually) it will fit.

Clearly better is hard to justify for different ears because it depends on what criteria you find important.

The first thing that came to mind though is that they are the GR07's more fun American cousin who takes steroids.

I really like how they complement each other actually and have no plans right now to have them replace my GR07's.

Yeah, with the stock tips the shoutiness decreased; its still there at higher volumes though.

Well no its not that - I understand the wait (I had placed an order on the 26th of feb) - I just thought..and doubt I'm wrong, to say that my order was shipped to someone else, and I'm now awaiting the FOLLOWING batch to arrive...

I have no doubt that Springtree is doing their best to satisfy demands, they just seem a bit overwhelmed by international orders.

I ordered ASG-1 on February 16th, and they were only shipped on March 5th when I asked Matt what was going on.

They were initially supposed to be shipped on February 29th (=2nd batch) so I guess I was served with the third batch (March 2nd).

It does make me doubt that all orders got dealt with chronologically, since a few poeple got served earlier than me while having ordered after me, but hey, no worries, bugs can happen. biggrin.gif

Anyway, they're now held by french customs, let's hope not for a whole week...

You guys try listening to some Metal and Rock with these??

I thought they sounded great with HipHop and EDM.. These earphones were made for Metal and Rock. I can't listen to anything else for Metallica, Pantera, Slayer. Crue.Judas Priest. Whitesnake, Queen..I can't stop listening to anything with a guitar riff and kick drums.

a week?
I suggest 2 with french customs :P!

(I hate "la poste")

And yes Matt & Dale are very kind!

I was just stating it, as it surprised me.

Dale emailed me the reason:
The 2nd batch got split in 2 parts, one set of the 2nd batch in the first half of the week, the 2nd part of the 2nd batch in the 2nd part of the week (confused :D?)

Very nice guys, both Matt and Dale - never had THIS GOOD customer service, both from the company, nor their resellers. So I'm not complaining, trust me!

I thought they sounded worse with rock than other genres.

I can't stop listening to anything with guitars on these..I don't know. They sound freaking so right with Metal. Authority comes with even more authority. These just own metal and rock. I broke out an album that is near n dear to me.  Judas Priest Screaming for Vengeance and album I have heard thousands of times as I own the cassette of it when it came out. Unreal it is like I am hearing it the way it should be heard. Same with many of my older rock collection.

Do you have those new filters with your asg1? I envy you because that's how I wanted to hear rock and metal with them but it didn't work out for me.frown.gif

No filters.. I did eq it. Lower the mids up the bass end about 2dbs and the highs about the same. I forgot I left it like that for hip hop. Then I started listening to some rock and metal and I haven't stopped listening since this morning.  Metallica + ASG-1= Mind-Blown.jpg
