Hey guys I'm looking to purchase a my first portable amp for my akg k272, The size of the e6 is a huge advantage to me as well as price but quality wise is there a big difference in sound quality if I'm running off of my ipod nano or laptop?!?

p.s will I have to also purchase the LD 9 cable for Ipod?!?

Thanks guys

If you just need a little extra volume the E6 should do OK.  The E11 will get you a little more volume over the the E6 if you like to listen loud.

The E6 comes with a 1/8" to 1/8" cable so you don't need the L9 but the line out should be a little cleaner.

does it help with sound quality as well!?!?

The amp?

It could.  Many of those tiny little amp circuits in DAPs and laptops get rough sounding with some but I don't know enough about your equipments specs to say for sure.
