AudioQuest fiber cables?

Finally found some glass-fiber cables here in Sweden. AudioQuest brand. Sad thing is: they sell a CRAZY priced 500$ / meter Optilink5 model and the COMPLETELY OPPOSITE priced 40$ Optilink A.

For the life of me, I can't imagine why there is such an INSANE difference between two *GLASS* fibers. Actually, the Optilink A is priced similar with a plastic fiber.

Considering this, shouldn't I just get the plastic one (Supra brand) ? That's because I need Toslink -> Mini, and the plastics I find in that format, but the AudioQuest I find only in Toslink <-> Toslink format, and I think the convertor will pretty much screw up whatever advantages I get from using a nice branded cable (although I've been told that it doesn't matter).

One or the other isn't a typo?

Makes no difference.

So, anybody?

I took a look at their site and only the most expensive one seems to be made from glass.  Not like it makes a difference.

Argh crap. You're right. Thanks for noticing that! I wondered where did you find that info, then I saw the Cross Section area. They're nice to provide that info.

I was about to buy Optilink 1 because I thought it's glass. Unfortunately, it's not so apparently ::- /. And also unfortunately, Optilink 5 is insanely expensive.

I guess I will still buy Optilink 1 (since I do want a quality brand fiber cable and this is the only company I found so far to retail here in Sweden) and perhaps upgrade to Optilink 5 if I start ****ting money.
