"Your current favorite headphone" thread! - Page 3

At the moment... LCD2.2 + W4S DAC2 + Burson HA 160D.

A Liquid Fire and an LCD3 are coming in the next 6 weeks to accompany my W4S DAC2, with the rest going into a bedroom rig setup. So my favorite is destined to surely change.

So there isn't much competition for "current favorite", my iPhone 4s and Shure 535s are a great portable combo, but they can't compete with the big kid toys.

My headphone Rig is not very good at the moment. But my fav one is the Koss pro Dj100. One of the best for under $100.

Loving my FA-011.

Grado GS1000 for rock
LCD-3 for other genre

I like my music to be intimate. These 2 phones IMO brings me to the front row of the performance. Feeling that I m there with the performers. Not the best in terms of soundstage and airiness though.

W1000X when my roommate is out or when he is not playing junk music, eating, or just acting like a retarded in general....

TF10x6 when my roommate is acting like a retarded... but to be honest... even CIEM doesn't provide enough isolation.. mad.gif

so... W1000X is definately my top choice...

I'm really enjoying my GS1000s.

I recently picked up a pair of Grado RS2's (very under-rated fun headphone) locally for a decent price (couldn't ignore that deal) and been having a lot of fun with them. It has given my Grado PS500's a little break :P.

I tried the Sennheiser HD800 with a nice woo audio setup and loved it xD Probably my current favorite.

Great headphone. The more i listen to it the better it gets. Gives a certain weight and depth to sound effects in games as well. Was running through some water in THE HAUNTED HELLS REACH and i was surprised how thick it sounded.

Current favorite in my weekly rotation use is the Koss Pro 4AAT. It pretty much has everything i want in my sound. Intense analytical detail yet with a musical balanced tight bass which doesnt over power anything as it plays comfortably next to the treble. The isolation on it is fantastic and i can really immerse myself in things at any time of the day. Before this the Koss Pro 4AA were my masters of exquisite detail but without the same level of bass.

Current favorite is the DJ100/Tony Bennett tied with the Q701. Not much else gets much use lately. Whenever I use the HD-600 I always ended up complaining about it's sound and take it off.

Q701 has been sounding especially good now that I found out my laptop's USB ports were degrading it's sound somewhat. Don't have a clue why.

BTW I need to use my Pro4AAAT more soon. It's in the box and not sure if sounds the same as the 4AAT. Probably not. This pair seems to have this weird plasticy veil. Don't know what causes it.

It's most noticeable immediately when you put them on.

I recently picked up a pair of Grado RS2i's (very under-rated fun headphone) locally over the interwebs for a decent price (couldn't ignore that deal) and been having a lot of fun with them. It has given my Grado PS500's SR225i a little break.... they're for sale :P.
