Hello there!
First of all i am sorry if i have put this threat in wrong place! If it's not good here just pm me!
I'm new to this forum. I was happy user of a sennheiser hd 435 vegas for several years, but now it's time for him to rest. (around 15 years old)
I got a new laptop (lenovo ideapad y570a) and i am having serious problems. My hd 435 crepitates one plugged in. And it crepitates a lot. I got for christmas a hd 202 and it does the same actually much louder without music, and when i play music it does it too in certain frequencys ranges. So my first question would be: whats going on?
This laptop has JBL speakers and they do really sound fantastic (relatively) so i dont get what the problem is through headphones.
I know this might sound weird, but although my old headphone is a cripple in many aspects it's just much better than my brand new hd 202.
So I want to have a home gear for maximum sound quality.
My budget is max 400 usd. You must undestand that in Hungary tech goods are around 1.3 (4/3) times more expensive than in the US. Unless you persuade me I wouldn't order from abroad in first place.
I tried out many headphones and I liked akg 272, akg 701 and senn 650, and an audio tech in that price range but i cant remember it.I was really pleased, but they told me I should have several equimpments for it.
I don't really understand the way it works. So there is external sound card, headphone amp, amp/dac , and headphone.
What would you recommend for me to get for this price? I listen to mainly Jimi Hendrix. Blues, classic rock, classical music, some rap, but no techno and dubstep and stuff like that. I need a setup that is more or less portable with my laptop!
I am also open to any headphones besides the ones i mentioned. :)
I don't really get it but after reading this website I found out that you need an amp for high impedance headphones. There are amps and amp/dacs. What's the differance? An amp/dac has built in soundcard, or how come that it doesn't really gets better with a decent soundcard (as i read it somewhere)
Thank you very much for this website! And for the answers in advance!
