another one i want to ask about is the V-MODA crossfades, i watched the review by thatsnazzyiphoneguy, and read up on it, and it sounds like a great value to go along with the sweet look

I dont think you'd be dissapointed by the Crossfades actually, they're well respected just about verywhere, go ahead and add those to your shortlist if you got one.

and what about the souls?

I already said my bit about the Souls on the last page. If you didnt see it, go ahead and read it, but overall I say no to the souls.

Woah woah guys, lets not throw around the phrase "big difference" so easily! For a newbie I dont think he'll notice the differences fom DAC to DAC so easily now except maybe for the volume difference or bass impact difference, but lets bot get outta hand here!! If you're just gonna use your iPod or laptop to run the V-Moda's you should be fine and not need an amp or better source (unless you really want it).

true, for a casual listener, difference is not too much of a worry.
just go with what sounds good.
you dont want to spent too much and be dissapointed
