cMoy Mod

Hey Everybody. First time posting here, but long time reader. I just purchased the JDS Labs cMoy v2.03 and the Beyer DT990's 600 ohm (price was a steal on amazon.com). I want to do changes in the cMoy so that I can drive these badass headphones at good quality and volume. I am going to put in 2 9V (rechargeable) battereis so that i can pull 18V. What are some other things I can do to better drive these headphones. Changing the opamp or C1 to higher power capacitor? Looking forward to hearing from experienced DIY'ers! I plan on using the cMoy to be mobile within my house.

Try NJM4556AD(D) OpAmp.

The opamp recommended above is excellent for directly driving headphones, but its power requirements make it somewhat unsuited to single 9V battery Cmoys. As you are using two batteries, not a problem!

I am not sure what cap comes on the board, but in general the larger it is the less static noise.
