Hi guys! This would be my 1st post on these boards. I'm wouldn't call myself an audiophile but I do enjoy good music :D.
(If you don't want to read my intro feel free to skip to the end)
I never really had the urge to buy any headphones that cost more than 40 bucks till I started listening to dubstep. It was very noticeable that my apple buds could not produce the sounds the way it was meant. Shorty after a friend of mine purchased Beats by Dre and although they were leaps and bounds better than my buds it was still pretty evident that even the beats could not reproduce the sounds that I wanted. After doing my homework I ended up getting the Audio Technica m50, the FiiOs E6 and the DOC connector. I definitely have no regrets. Its day and night compared to the Beats. The bass was rich, the different notes were definitive, the "pulses" were tasteful and didn't degrade the quality. The highs would sound clear and were not distorted or screeching.
Now even though these are the best headphones that I have listened to there always room for improvement right? When I really jam out and max out my amp volume the quality starts to go down. The rich bass would start to fuzz and the crisp highs would start to screech. Is this because my M50's cant handle it or is it because of the amp? Would an amp that was more expensive fix the problem? Or it would not increase the quality of my max volume but make the sounds richer at lower levels? Or maybe both?
Sorry if these questions seem trivial, I'm a complete noob to the audiophile world.
