First post in this forum...Kind of a noob to headphones in general.

I've only owned a couple of headphones, both Skullcandy - the Hesh and the Aviators (I know). Anyway, I read many threads about the V-moda LPs, LP2s, and M-80s and decided to get the LP2s since I prefer over-ear and they came with a 60-day test drive. When I first put them on I thought they were pretty good, maybe just because they were new headphones, but when I compared them with my Skullcandy Aviators I realized the LP2s were really...bleh. Maybe there's something wrong with me, or I haven't given them enough time to "burn-in", but the sound on the LP2s seemed more muddled or in-the-back. The sound on the Aviators was clearer to me, despite lacking the really low frequencies that the LP2s were able to make audible. I listen to mostly electronic - Electro, House, D&B, Dubstep, etc. But I also like to listen to Rock, Alt, and Jazz oriented music on occasion. I really like the punch of kicks and the sound of lead synths...and I thought I liked a lot of bass too (as most people do), but the supposedly bass-heavy LP2s didn't really do much for me. It could be that I don't know what real bass is, or I'm actually a treble man, but in any case I'm wondering what to do next. I've had the LP2s for 5 days now and left music playing on them on medium volume every night. Should I return them, and get the M-80s? Keep them and see if they get better? Or return them and agonizingly wait for the M-100s? Again, I don't really like on-ear, but if somebody can give me an amount of time you can wear the M-80s without them being uncomfortable, that would be helpful too. Also I'd like to know if anyone else who owns both of these or has tried both thinks differently, or could inform me of my preferences based on my favoring of the Aviators. I want to try more of V-moda because I really like their design and build, and I like the fact that you can unplug the wire. (Although despite being brand-new their wire still seemed to have that fuzzy noise problem if you move the wire near the base of the jack, which is part of the reason I wanted to replace my Aviators.) Like I said before, I'm a noob, so I'm not trying to get too technical. Any and all feedback is appreciated.
