Looking for a pair of headphones I can take to school and enjoy wearing, as well as listen to at home. I've pretty much committed to getting open air headphones, was thinking of getting the Akg 501 / 701. Would something like the fiio e6 be enough to power those cans on the go? Would it sound terrible and be a waste of time, or just not be as good as it could be but still good? Thank you for all responses, if you guys have any other ideas for cans or amps please by all means share them!

Best closed headphones I had heard - very flat response, almost no midrange distortion, very easy to drive (good for portable), good soundstage (definately better than K240), good isolation, but...

AKG 701 sounds okay straight out of an iPod... but you should probably go a more portable route. What kind of music do you mostly listen and what is your budget?
I listen to jazz mostly but also punk rock, rap, a capella, classical, hip hop.. my budget would be somewhere around 200. Thanks for the help!
