Hi there everybody! i need your help...
i have a sandisk sansa clip+ portable mp3 (and flac!) player, and i want to get the most out of it. now i use it with my sennheiser hd 202, it sounds more than ok, but i even want waay more. i hope (and am almost sure) u know both 2 products and can help me. i read a lot of the audio-technica ath-m50 and started to like it very much, but is it worth it to buy (or something similar for around 100-150) for my tiny little player? or a cheaper one would be enough? my ears are picky, i play the piano for 11 years now (im 17 now), i can hear differences. can u please advise me CLOSED headphones or earphones which are a huge upgrade from my hd 202 and sound amazing for the price and for my clip+? the hd 202 is said to be closed also, but it doesnt isolate outside noises well. i would choose something with a better isolation. which earphones or headphones really get the maximum sound from my portable player? i listen to almost all music genres, and sound quality is the priority for me. ill be buying a high-end android phone in some weeks, and another question is that can my clip+ produce the same sound quality as those cell phones? please guys help out a young, beginner music-lover... thank you very much! adam

its funny a bit.

when i posted this (7.January 2012), the clip+ was the only audio device i had paired with a senn hd202...

i got into this hobby, and the world of head-fi sniffed me in. 2 months passed:

just take a look at my forum signature.

Too bad no one replied. So you tried the ATH-M50 and didn't like it? Seems to be the best sounding headphone at that price point to me, and blocks sound almost too well. When I use it at work I don't hear anything - phone, boss talking next to me, ha ha.

Ah, the new HD25-1 II is another $100, but looks more portable than the heavy-ish ATH-M50. Looks like a good pairing with the Sansa Clip.

Different headphones for different uses. I just don't like that boxy sound closed headphones give me (compared to open headphones).

The V-Modas certainly look promising, i spent some time with the M80s recently and really liked it! But it's ~$200, you may want to keep an eye on the FS section for good deals though.

I had the M50, yeah, and I did like it.

A little later I read Joker's shootout, and bought the HD 25-1 IIs instead, and started to like them more - just a bit more. But thats enough.

-sound quality is somewhere around M50's

-smaller

-lighter

-punchier bass (does not go that deep though)

-and as a bonus, it was not more expensive for me here in Hungary.

(Bought the Basic version, this means 100$ less price and not getting the carrying case and the velour pads.)

Good deal.
