Need Warmth and Detail - but no Sizzle

Hello all and thank you all for this great forum.

I suffer from Tinnitus in my right ear, and as a result also developed an extreme sensitivity to high frequencies (hyperacusis).

I have Monster Turbines but am tired of the lack of detail and sloppy bass - I need a change for the better.

Just tried the Atrio M5 MG7 Pro - Great bass but has a pushed back mid-range, and the high end is too bright and forward for me. I tried to EQ my Rockboxed Fuze the best I could to no avail. Going up for sale...

What can I try next that is WARM, tight bass and forward mid-range, but without the high-end bright sizzle? The cymbals are killing me!

My range is under $200.

Thanks again

Shure SE215 perhaps? I can't remember how they sounded but you can always play with EQ to bring down the higher frequencies.

x2, eq the bass down a touch, and you will have some killers.

It sounds like you're looking for the Vsonic GR07. Check out some reviews on those as I haven't had the chance to listen to them.

There are also the IE8 if you can find those under $200. The price has really inflated on the FS forums recently...

I'm not sure if the GR07 is right for him. Look into the RE262 or the TDK BA100.

That's actually not a bad call.

Ah, you're right.

+1 for the RE262. Had a small audition with them and cannot recommend them highly enough if you're looking for some excellent mids.

I second the RE262 for you. They have quickly become my favorite universal IEM (to my surprise!),.. I have them in my ears now, and once they get in I don't want to take them out.

Yamaha EPH100, they have slightly recessed treble, but keep all the detail and have a lovely warmth and timbre.

Also the mids are pretty forward, they're a joy to listen to.

I wouldn't say treble are recessed, they're just ok, not forward.

It fits the OP's needs though, no sibilence, no dryness and a nice pricetag.

Great guys, thanks.

It looks like it's between the RE262, SE215, and Yamaha EPH100. What is an X2?

262 , hands down.

especially if you don't want harsh highs and great warmth , for 150$ this is a no-brainer.
