How does the bass response on the LCD2/3 compare to bassy closed headphones like M50?

Assuming optimal amping for all cans, is the LCD2/3's bass impact and extension much superior to even closed headphones with highly regarded bass impact and extension qualities?

 

I already know the LCD2's bass blows away all open headphones, but does it blow away all open AND closed headphones?

YES!

 

Simply no comparison in depth, control, and clarity. I have never heard bass so "real". Other headphones may "slam" and "thump" harder (like the D5000/D7000s), but none do such a fabulous overall job at giving you impact, depth, control,.....you name it. smile.gif

yes. the bass isn't boosted or emphasized as with other headphones.

 

but you can definitely hear it, and its very clean, natural, and probably the best bass i've heard. texture, depth, detail, control, etc...

 

and if the song is meant to have bass, you will hear it. these sound awesome on the LCD-2:

Quality on LCD-2 vs. Quantity on cheaper closed headphones. Pick what you like.

listening to more bassy hiphop music on my lcd-2 and its enough to satisfy me. its there, its just not forced and overdone.

 

its very good though, you will like it. its very clean and natural sounding. i've never heard bass that sounds this good. it just adds so much to the music.
