Bump...

Do you know that the 558 is open, and therefore people around you will know what you're listening to because they can hear it to a certain extent? Also, the Fanny Wengs aren't particularly good, especially in build quality.

How important is soundstage to you (the space between instruments and the space you can hear in the sound)? You can get great soundstage from most open headphones, so if you're looking for that you may want to go that way. Have you looked at Grado at all?

Hey, sound stage isnt really important to me, and plus i use my ad700s for gaming so these will just be for music. And yes i have checked out grado, was looking at the sr80i and sr225i but wasnt sure about the design of the headphones - worried about comfort since ill be wearing these headphones for about 1 - 3 hours at a time. Oh and im going to run the headphones either by a Cowon S9, my pc with a ASUS Xonar DX 7.1 souncard or a Sansa clip. Thanks

Grado is fine for your genres, but it will leak sound. I find them to be comfy, plus you can switch pads.

They are not hard to drive.

If the HD558s are close in sound to the HD598s (which I've heard they are), I'd take them over the M50s.

Well do you know where to purchase a pair? Because here in NZ I cant find a shop that sells grados thats in my budget... And are the SR225i better than the SR80i?

Thanks,

hans030390, why would you take the 558s/598s over the m50s?
