Hidition NT-6 Custom IEM Review: The Ultimate Reference? - Page 25

Yes..exactly same thing happens to me. First few minutes of listen is always bright.

Honestly on the 901 they are only very slightly bright. On the 240 more so, and on the ZX1 clearly too much...IMO

Whiplash audio Hybrid cable really tunes down lots of brightness and added in more bass presence and impact.

I'm on the Best Oslo II and will switch back to DHC fusion soon. But actually I am not a big believer in cables...I just like'em pretty biggrin.gif

I wasn't either. But now I am ;) Although it's only a small difference, hybrid cable really brings my NT6 to the level of SE5. The musicality and smoothness is really top class.

Joe's review never disappoints...The Twag hybrid 8 wire V3 actually sounds very different from V2 on NT6.

Oh my god, the bass! The treble extension is improved a lot~~ The resolution is like 10-20% higher. It's also much more spacious.  Definitely a killer combo with NT6!

Is the cable not too massive? Do you really hear a clear difference....I am always skeptical on cables.

Yes sir! positive! ;) I have been using NT6 with hybrid V2 for more than one year. I didn't buy the V3 because they look like almost the same! But they don't sound the same at all! When I change it to V3, I could hear instantly the increase in soundstage depth and width. And the level of detail, resolution is definitely better! Definitely!

I don't believe in cable can always improve CIEMs/IEMs, because it doesn't, it's all about the pairing! But when it does, it really does! I bought this cable only because of AJ's impressions. And this proves he is right once again!

But yeah, the cable is about 5% thicker than the previous one, but it's still one of the softest cables.

And it's safe to say the bass presence is more than SE5's now!

What about other cables? Because I have been using DHC Fusion and Olso II with NT6 and not sure about benefits. What about with SE5? I am using TWAu.

I have used several cables for NT6. Only hybrid V2/V3 make is smoother and more musical with significantly added low-end presence. All others make it very clear or bright.

I think TWau should be a very good match for SE5. at least that's what I heard from my friend that his cable increases the clarity a lot. I haven't tried it yet. SE5 changes less upon cables than the more sensitive NT6 IMO. But it still improves if you find the right one. I was using silver/copper toxic cable, which is a good match. Now I am using endorphin, which only improves the extension but not the clarity/brightness.

The SE5 sounds nice but I think it is more related to the fact that it was reshelled and is thus more neutral...
Man but 550 for a cable is sort of ridiculous...even if I already paid that in the past.

lol that's why I was hesitating for a very long time. But so far it sounds/looks like it's worth the money. I bought this cable purely for NT6. But I will try with H8P later, because I got a feeling it might benefit from it too.
