Depends on what you call revealing and reference. Considering what I read about them, they perform at the top level obviously, mostly very flat, maybe a slight emphasis on treble.

My preferred signature is different though. I have SE5way and I am pretty happy with it. Also very revealing but in organic way. Very rich sounding monitors. I don't think I will upgrade it to something else since I am happy with the both sound quality and signature but then again, if you compare them, they are more different than similar so if one suits you, the other might not.

Not sure if my head got baked as I didn't smoke any herbs. I have a home setup, the ODAC/O2 combo, which has been my go to setup for accuracy if I want to test IEMs out.  I didn't know how well this thing put out until I used it with NT-6.  Possibly I may have been mistaking changes it the sound of the NT6 going from.  DX90 -> X5 -> ODAC/O2 which sound got proggressively better as it become more realistic, detailed, and clear.  Seriously, ODAC/O2 is amazingly transparent setup.  Of course, the NT-6 is a sheet of glass, and the sound waves are on the other side with ODAC/O2 glass and NT6 glass. lol.  I've owned the HE-6 which I think is the most detailed and realistic sound I've eve heard. I didn't think this IEMs could achieve realism and details and dynamics(cans dynamics is different).  With the ODAC/O2 combo, you can hear the dynamics.  What i mean by dynamics is, the sound imaging is not in one layer(this is not that exact either), it changes, it's pretty amazing.  I don't know what Hidition does, but I approve.  NT-6 is source dependent, and if you give it a good source, my lord....

Hopefully, Concero HP can top my ODAC/O2 as it's sound hasn't gotten beaten yet.

I didn't think NT-6 was bright.  I think my ears could have handled NT-6 pros pretty well  ;)  I kinda regret not going with the pros(I'm just curious that's why) as the bass is done really well with the NT-6.  It's definately not like my V3 ghetto whomp whomp bass.  lol.

The craftsmanship and the precise sound tells you that Hidition knows how to make CIEMs, and they have a very precise manufacturing process.

Why regret when you are so enjoying the NT6? NT6 pro is not simple as "more bass" the whole sound signature shifts from "glass" to “magic mirror" lol

Well, actually, intially I had regretted as I didn't think the treble was forward enough as my ears was used to V3.  Then as time went on, I realized, this thing is pretty detailed.  I'm picking up static recording sound textures.

"Kind of Blue"?  I'm hearing things I've not heard before.  Not only detailed, but natural, realistic and so clear.

And now, I'm in complete satisfaction as it met expectations thanks to tupac and AJ, as you guys are great source of info because you have so many CIEMs.  :)

I now know, the best headphones are the ones that don't sound special at first, and sound amazing over time.

You know what is wrong with Head Fi most of the time? We read and compare all those gears, find their pros and cons and make research for months and all.

Dude, we gotta enjoy the music, we have to let it play.

You got one of the best ciems out there, my only suggestion is, love it, use it, listen to it. Don't try to find good spots bad spots. There will be no clear upgrade for you as far as ciems are concerned (sidesteps are possible of course), so just put your favorite albums and enjoy them.

That's what is missing with this website. So much comparing, a quest to find the ultimate sound and all. Sometimes people forget why we enjoy high quality audio reproduction.

Now that my search is finalized as I found the pearl in the sea....  The pearl is the Hidition NT-6.(so dramatic, huh?  :)

Now, I just want a transportable that can match my ODAC/O2 combo or better.  :o  Then, I'll have a big smile on my face as I'm walking down the street.

What are your thoughts on the NT6 vs. the SE5? Although I love my NT6pro, I have a feeling that I am missing out on something special not having the SE5 as well. Which do you listen to most and why?

I would say comparable in perforamnce with different sigs...Joe's and Tupac's comparisons are on the spot...I listen to SE5 more, but love the NT6 too.

Mimouille, I wrote this on the other thread and I'll share it here.  ODAC/O2 combo is amazing.  I realized it after using it with the NT-6.  I only have the X5, DX90, and Concero HP at the moment to do comparisons, but O' combo slaps the other DACs around like no tomorrow.  I've compared it with other DACs and it's undeniable when I compare it with others, it's superior.  It's the most transparent.  It's amazingly transparent with the NT6, you can hear the most details, clarity is there(NT6 provides this), and stage, and bass, all that stuff have much more believeable presence than other DACs/DAPs.  I was quite disappointed with Concero HP given how much it cost, it got bitch slapped by O' combo.

I also agree with you regarding X5.  DX90 seems hype to me, it doesn't offer SQ for the price, I think the sound sig was intentionally bass boosted.

Barra, I do not own the SE5, but possibly in the future.  It's just too much of a hassle for me to order it from USA.

The unreasonable hassle and customs issues stopped me as well. The world has become very anti business with Guido at every corner.

Guys, I remember when I used to say clip+ was one of the best portable and it does it job for low price.  I got to say I might have been too black and white about it.  With the NT6, you can notice the differences between the DAPs, and it's not subtle.  It's nice having a set of headphones that are reference as it helps out in determining what gears are good or not.  You notice so many things with it, you start noticing the differences with many DACs and DAPs and amps too.  :o

It does super well with electronic.  So I tried Daft Punk RAM, which I heard it like never before, and listening to this and this little CIEM's talents really shows.  It shines with electronics music.  Previously, I've tried Miles Davis, "Kind of Blue," and it was bliss, it picks up all the horn details.  I think people that love dubstep would love the NT-6.  Probably even more of the pro as it has more bass quantity I'm sure.  Lovin the bass quality and the clarity, it's amazin.

When I listen to NT6 after not listening to it for awhile, one thing that strikes me is that they are a bit bright.  Then my ears adjust.  I'm glad I didn't go with the pro as I think it might be to bright for me considering NT6 seems bright to my ears.
