Amp/DAC combo to replace E7/E9?

I am looking to replace my current setup of E7/E9 using Mac Pro.

My budget is around $500 and it doesn't have to be portable like E7.

I have D7000 and PRO900 and listen to all genres so I prefer something natural/transparent sounding.

You might want to go with a O2, it's cheap and apparently very transparent.

What is O2? Is this the DIY amp?

 

Anyway, I did some research and am liking the following configs. I know some costs a couple more hundred $ but who I am to argue with what my heart wants?

 

Asgard + Bitfrost

Asgard + HRT MS II

Nuforce Icon HDP

 

Will any of these provide enough of difference from E7/E9 combo?

Can't comment on E7/E9 combo, but I went from the E10 to the Icon HDP for my Pro 900's.  Love it !  Much better than the E10.  The E10 made the Pro 900 sound very "bloated".  The HDP gives the Pro 900's a much more natural sound with that Ultrasone signature bass - tight with HDP.  Very happy with the combo.
