looking to upgrade from my Porta-Pros.

I am looking for a open air, on ear headphone

not a DJ,and my listening enviroment is my living room which is perfectly quiet.

I am using my current earphones on my computer..I do not have a full size stereo system.

Not sure if it better to get open air/closed air...does it really matter in a quiet room??

Not sure if I really need..Noise Cancelling headphones???

My price range is up to $350.00

Most of my music is Jazz, classical, opera, mild rock.

Currently,,I'm looking at the Sennheisser HD-25.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Thanks,

Mike

Open air gives a better soundstage and more openness to the music. It is particularly helpful for classical music. This comes at the price of bass that might not be as strong, and the lack of isolation.

The HD25 variations are all closed. They are much better for rock than classical. A good choice for classical is the Sennheiser HD598.

I will recommend to buy iBasso D7+ Ultrasone HFI2200 or closed cans like V-Moda M80 for better quality sound experince.

I'm looking for  "on-ear" headphones"

The 598's are too big,and over the ear...

Any other suggestions??

Thanks,

Mike
