the T1 and WA2 combo is perfect though, makes the T1 very musical and enjoyable while taming the highs at the same time. the result is a beautiful combination of detail, dynamics, and smoothness....
the bass becomes very well controlled and goes deeper than ever,
the mids become as smooth and refined, like sipping crown royal on the rocks,
and the highs, while at times still annoying, are crystal clear and full of life.
without a WA2, your T1 aren't much better than a dt 880 on a super bright amp. (lol im joking on this one, but you get the picture)

Are the T1s a very fast headphone? The 'slow' comments with regards to the WA2 have me a bit concerned, but I suppose that also helps the the synergy a bit, along with being a warm amp?

I do not get the picture. A neutral amp will bring out the natural qualities of the T1. For better or worse. For me, I love it. The T1 uncolored is a beautiful sound to my ears.
That said, I still want to audition my T1 with a nice tube amp sometime. CSP2+, most likely. I am quite content with the sound of my T1 with the SPL Auditor but am open to other options. I just am trying to not splurge much more than I already have, haha.
i wouldn't say very fast, but its definitely on the faster side.
the WA2 isn't slow or sluggish like people say, or better yet, people exaggerate it.
and yes, it helps with the synergy.
its warm and smooth which the T1 needs imo.
