Looks are subjective. I actually like the look of most headphones, like the HTF600, but I wouldn't recommend it to the style-conscious. Maybe the RP-HTX7?

I ended up buying her the white RP-HTX7s. They aren't bad per se, but for $10-20 more you could get much better sound.

Xears or Brainwavz make the best headphones around that price range. I don't know about looks, they're nothing stylish but they look fine to me.

Depends if he's talking about headphones or earphones (earbuds/IEMs).

+ 1 for the Creative Aurvan Live!

Amazing Denon sound with more juice to the bass.

Also, they are the most comfortable headphones you will ever have,

Haven't heard much about the others, but the CALs seem to be a favorite on here for that price range.

Also don't spend too much time on here or you will catch upgraditis.

Upgraditis happens to people like you and me who think that a $50 or $100 headphone is where you stop. But no, all of a sudden your living off cheap noodles and forced to sell your personal belongings or do interpretative dances for cash because you were talked into getting $300 headphones. Or even worse $1,000 headphones

But of course the nice people here at Head-Fi will reassure you that you need to spend $800-$1000 to properly drive your new $300 headphones. And then you later learn that your entire music library is unusable because it is in a compressed format, so you have to re-download and or re-rip your entire music collection.

Enjoy your music. And don't overpay for over-marketed headphones like Bose or Beats.
