Thinking of getting a Sennheiser HD 598 - can a shorter cord be purchased?

Does anyone make such a thing?  10 ft. seems like a lot....

Use it for a while, if the length is still inconvenient cut the cable to the desired length and use the plug to re-terminate. If you're not comfortable doing that sent it to one of our sponsors that does cable work.

Hmm.  Yeah, I'll try them for a while, but I don't know if I am going to be up for cutting them myself, lol.  All past attempts with wire have not been... pretty.
