Got a pair of these for 100$ on the FutureShop boxing day sale, and I'm wondering if I'd need an amp for them?

I'm on an extremely tight budget, and I take them around a lot, so I'm looking at something like the Fiio e6

My source is primarily going to be my aging Sansa e260.

 

Is it an issue carrying an e6 around along with an mp3 player? I know that it's meant to be ultraportable, but having something extra in your pocket is still more than having nothing else.  Will I get noticeable sound quality improvements?
