Connecting Fiio e10 to good computer speakers

I have my fiio e10 "permanently" connected to my iMac to listen to my iTunes via my Audio Technica ATH M50, Grados etc. I would like to connect the coaxial out or line out to good quality computer speakers and I assume that since the e10s are fairly good, I should not opt for speakers with built-in DACs. What would more experienced members recommend for good speakers around the USD100 level? I don't need room filling sound and my key source is iTunes music, not gaming or watching movies. I don't need remote controls etc as I merely want great sound coming from the speakers as I use the computer itself. Thanks in advance.

People say Edifier's bookshelf speakers are good value for money.

Yes I had an Edifier before I gave it away. But what I really want to do is not so much speakers like these but perhaps more powerful ones that I can drive using the e10 amp itself.

It doesn't matter, E10 doesn't drive speakers. You need a power amp for that. All E10 does is give you a clean signal for powered/active speakers.

Besides, $100 won't get you too far. Maybe M-Audio AV40? Did you have Edifier bookshelf? I think the R1900 and R2000 are mentioned often.

I see. That's what I wasn't sure about. Then I will have to look at speakers like the ones you recommended, Audio Engine et al. Thanks

Go read lots of reviews on and outside Amazon. Plenty of similar products there too. $200 would give you more headroom for quality speakers me thinks.

I wanna get the Hyundai HY-Z-5400 to replace my "bottom-end" 2.0, for only $34 they are supposed to be as good as T20, and with a spec of 35Hz-18Khz (most likely untrue) for a 3.5" woofer. Well, I just read with EQ T20 are on par with R1900 or something like that. There's only one non-audiophile short review on the Hyundai though.

I would surely take the plunge if it wasn't for the fact that I'm moving into a house on Sat with other people (been living on my own for the last two years) and a house rule of 10pm-8am no noise. And, I think a pair of  HM5 and E10 will serve me right. But I'm very much tempted to make good use of the line-out from the E10.
