Need advice please. First serious purchase of IEMs

Hello there head-fi'ers.

I've been reading these forums for quite a while now, checking the different threads, especially the multi iem shootout one. As you can probably guess I'm completely baffled by how complex sound is and how much there is to know. I'm posting this thread because I think I'm ready to take my first step into the audiophile world but I have no idea which IEM to purchase and the words/terms used in the Multi-iem thread go completely over my head.

I realize threads like this are started all the time and I'm really sorry but using the search function didn't give me the answers I needed, and unlike the Headphone's section, there is no stickied thread for asking a single question like this one.

Anyway here's a list of some info -

  • The MP3 player I'm using is a sansa clip v1 with rockbox
  • My absolute budget is £40 ($62). The IEM's must be available in the UK just incase there's a problem so I can easily return it. Some IEM's I've been eyeing after looking at ljokerl's thread are the soundmagic e30's. But again I have no idea if they are the right ones.
  • I'm a complete noob at using words to decribe music but If I were to decribe the soundstage I'm looking for it'd be spacious but not too far out (with the panasonics it sounds like theres a barrier between me and the music). It should be well balanced but fun, with good bass, mids and highs. I want to be able to feel the music as if I'm a part of it. I'm not a basshead but I like songs with lots of energy.
  • The music I listen to is K-pop, j-pop and j-rock. These genres use a lot of synthesised sounds. I want IEM's that compliment these genres well.

Here are some examples of the Artists I listen to -

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6SwiSpudKWI - SNSD Genie

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jbqfOrgtqQ8 - Spyair Liar

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X_3Fdg_drAM Stereopony  - Hanbunko

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dww9UjJ4Dt8&ob=av2e Shinee - Lucifer (a track with lots of bass and electronica)

I can't go higher than £40 because I've never really spent more than £10 on a pair of earphones. I had some Sansa stock buds but somehow the cable inside is broke. I then bought some Sony MDR-ex700's. They sounded good but the jack doesn't work properly (I.e I have to push it it halfway to get the sound). After that I bought some cheap panasonic ones but they have completely ruined my listening experience.

Anyway I think that's enough information for now. Any advice would be much appreciated. Sorry again for making this thread, I'm sure you guys are probably sick of seeing these. If it's in the wrong place then can the mods please delete it and re-direct me, thanks.

I hope you get some help, but to be honest, I really hate these threads. I'm new to this hobby as well but I've chosen to research. It seems like an even bigger waste of time when you list all these specific demands. You obviously know what you want, you know your budget, just pull the trigger.

lol thanks. I understand it is annoying but I wanted a bit more advice as I don't understand the reviews of each iem's. I did bite the bullet and I've gone for the soundmagic E10's over the E30's, as the E10's are supposed to be more consumer friendly.
