Headphone suggestions around $200 or less?

This is my first post and thread so um, yeah. I've been having my eyes on the Aiaiai TMA-1, V-Moda M-80, Sennheiser HD-25 ii, and Phiaton ms300. Well I'm not exactly sure which headphones to choose from since most of them are good in its own sound and value. So are there any other headphones that you guys suggest apart from those i listed above? And by the way, I don't have a credit card or anything to buy online (I'm a highschool student) so I wanna get something good/decent locally in Vancouver, BC.

What are your musical preferences? Do you want a neutral sound or something that accents a certain range? What is your budget? Would you consider buying an amp?

1. My music preferences are: power/symphonic metal, electronica, indie rock, and classic rock.

2. I wouldn't mind of the sound that is neutral. But not too harsh sounding or muddy. I want it clear and detailed with bass not overpowering the rest of sound.

3. My budget is on the thread topic.

4. No, I don't want an amp.

look at this video.

For the genres you've said, you want something that has good midrange and bass presentation. The TMA-1 is well-known as a mid-centric headphone with a strong bass, but those ranges don't overpower the others. It's also pretty stylish if that's a factor in your buying, and, as the video shows, it's quite durable.

I've check a bunch of reviews of the TMA-1 saying that the headband is too loose, and might wear off and exposing the wire but those are probably the older reviews though.

Yes, most of the original issues of the TMA-1 were phased out of the production process. They're pretty well-known in these parts now for being stylish and still sounding good, making them a sort-of "budget" portable alternative to the HD-25 I II

Wait for the sennheiser hd 25 1 ii to go on sale at futureshop for $199. Then snatch a pair. Best headphones for metal music i ever heard.

thanks for the help! I was hesitant of deciding whether they're good for the money or not so i'll just buy it without a regret. I can't stand with people using "mainstream" headphones such as beats, bose, skullcandies, or apple earbuds nowadays. Sure they're fashionable and all but it gets to the point that they're too common to look it and the sound quality itself has lost its meaning IMO.

I checked futureshop and they have the adidas version in stock which i don't mind the looks. Anyways, what does it sound like when you listen to them?

Spoken like a true Head-Fi'er already. By the way, I believe it's time for our unofficial motto:

Welcome to Head-Fi, and sorry about your wallet.

Like aural sex. Can't describe how good it is enough. It's very exciting and in your face. Good bass response and extended highs. The mids are slightly recessed. I got mine their for $200. Best part is if they break within 2 years they have to exchange it over the counter by law.
