FIIO E10 + AD700 sound degradation over time

So I've been having a bit of trouble getting quality audio out of my set-up.  Here is my config:

Laptop (Lenovo)

Foobar + WASAPI SPDIF interface (3- FiiO USB DAC-E10), using multiple FLAC audio files (pop and classical)

Fiio E10, bass boost off, low gain, audio pot at 2.5

ATH-AD700

It sounds great when I first plug everything in but goes downhill very quickly.  After about 5 minutes the output becomes overwhelmed with static.  It's not like all I hear is static, but I can hear buzzing and popping throughout songs where I wouldn't hear it otherwise.

I have tried all my USB ports and this problem doesn't manifest when I just plug directly into my head-phone jack on my laptop.

I have also tried using the DS setting in Foobar (instead of WASAPI) to get to the E10 but that doesn't resolve the problem either.

I am fairly certain the problem lies in the DAC.  Does anyone have any advice?  Is my unit defective?

There's been a number of problems with the e10. I took my chances and mine ended up having a different problem than most; which was surprising. I've given up on getting a replacement and bought a xonar dg instead as I've been told they sound similar. I recommend you return it for a replacement/refund.

Dang, I was really excited about using this thing too!

Oh well, guess I'll find an alternative.  Thanks for the reply.

So it wouldnt be wise to upgrade from the xonar dg to the fiio e10?
