I am now using the Xonar at extra high gain, and very happy with it.
The thing is I always have my Foobar at max volume and I often forget to turn down the volume in Xonar control panel after gaming sessions. Let's just say my Foobar at max volume combined with 50% volume at extra high gain is just a disaster waiting to happen to my ears.
That's why I'm starting to think it would be better if I have external volume knob right in front of me so that I can monitor and adjust volume level at will.
So, I have decided to buy an amp, preferably at an affordable price range (about100-250$). This Cute beyond seems to fit the bill. But since an amp I'm going to buy is going to replace the amp on the Xonar, I want something that sounds difference enough to justify the price.
Now, I know this is very subjective since I've heard that the amp on Xonar is on the flat side, and presents the sound the way it's supposed to be, but I'm looking for a budget amp that have good synergy with the HD600 and I want some opinions on the matter before I decide.
Does Cute Beyond get along well with the HD600? How much will the sound signature change? What sort of sonic differences can I expect?(bass, high, mids, etc.)
I can get it for around 120$ in where I live. Is this a good bargain?
Also, some opinions on the P4 would be appreciated.
