Having choices is never a bad option.

Nope, that's Vince from here on Head-fi, he has a listing here as well.  He's in Canada, so no issues with switching voltage.

The one for 3K is the one he had an issue with, had to send it back to Resonessence to fix it, which sort of cancels out the "deal" compared to the HF ad.  Shipping was also a lot.

It would be great to see some headband mods or different headband options.

I've attached a Beyerdynamic headband with Velcro to the underside of the LCD3s headbands.
This way I get much less clamping force and it can listen for hours without any discomfort.

Have you tried stretching the headband slightly? That also helps a little, just don't over stretch it or you'll make it too loose.

So after comparing the Mjolnir to the F1 with the LCD-3s, i think the mjolnir came out on top. They sounded very similar, but the mjolnir i think has a touch more control in the deepest of the deep bass. staging was similar on both, and there was a slight tonal difference in the upper bass that i could hear when i switched, but i couldnt really pinpoint what it was. i wouldnt say it had any impact on the sound quality though

Solude what was it that you had a problem with the Mjolnir with the LCD-3s? though i guess i dont have the Peak to compare it too, ill be able to compare it to a balanced B22 this coming weekend

Nope, I'm not buying my own pair of HE-6s, I'll be giving HC is pair back and be done with it. LCD-3s for me

Or are you saying people should get J2s for the lcd3s? Just seems a but like overkill lol

Amps I want to hear though are the SuSy Dynahi, stratus, ECBA, ECS7, and the peak you've got. But I'm pretty confident the mjolnir will serve for quite a while till I get to hear them

J2 for the LCD-3 is great though big and hot... did I mention hot ;)  Fingers crossed you can buy my Peak in the new year, assuming the stars align.

Yeah the heat of the f1 is a bit much. 2 amps of bussing current will do that though

Didn't mean your peak specifically, just that since you think so highly of it, I'd like to check one out. And I'll be trying to get to some bigger meets again this year to try out the amps before I go buying any of them.

Do you have the J2? Or have you just heard the LCD-3s on it? Is the gain not too high? Cause on the f1 it's got like 10db more gain then the mjolnir does.

The F1 is the odd ball of the FirstWatt gang.  Without pulling punches its really finicky, Nelson's words not mine ;)

I have not heard any of them, others have.  The F3 has my interest though.  Also JFETs and on sale so... hmm.

THe F1 is finicky, with speakers, since its a current output amp, it doesnt work with crossovers. But since the HE-6s and LCD-3s are a perfectly flat and entirely resistive load it works great with them.

Yeah i was thinking about getting it turned into a F1J since its supposed to be even better, but since im keeping the LCD-3s and giving back the HE-6s, im not gonna worry about it, Ive already sold the F1 to Preproman to use with the HE-6s
