Thanks ill look into the pwd2. I love the wa6se with these silvana tubes and EML rectifier. The saturation at higher volumes is astounding. Although every few hours I get some residual noise from the tubes.
Do you have any experience with the E.A.R. HP 4?

I'd say the pwd mark 2 is a step above the stello. About 2500 steps to be exact. I wish I could afford that thing..

They are $2300-$2500 new all day.  That is inside your $3000 budget.

I thought I saw them posted for $3500..  Oh i'll be looking into the mark II for sure.. Have you demoed it? They make some mighty boasts about audiophile quality conversion regardless of source..

I own one. It simply decimated the W4S DAC-2 and Metrum Octave.  Shoot Walter an email and see what he can do for you.

I'll throw the Eximus into the mix-I haven't heard a PWD or Invicta but it's a big jump over my previous Reference 9. And most reviews professional and otherwise put it on par with the Invicta.

Invicta's rarely come up for sale used.  There is one for sale 25% off on Audiogon, but the same seller sold one to sphinxvc and there were some issues with it (didn't switch voltage properly and a fuse blew or
