That's badass! You could have some serious dance parties down there...

What? I can't hear you! I've got to turn the music down! Okay, that's better. Party? Did someone say there's a party? OMG did we ever. Then again it was the seventies and eighties don't cha' know. Parliament/Funkadelic, Stevie Wonder "Songs in the Key of Life", Atlantic Starr, Rick James, Michael Jackson, The Clash, Prince "For You", Earth Wind & Fire, Doobie Brothers, Aerosmith, Ted Nugent, yeah that Ted Nugent. If I could go back to one of those sets now I might do better with the ladies. The secret is not to chase them. Let the mountain come to mahatma. Thanks for getting me all juiced up mogulmaster. I'm going to go deep deep into the record vaults and pull out something real nice. PARTY LIKE YOU JUST DON'T CARE! Peace

Dynaudio Contour S 1.4 or Focus line, that is very close to Audeze house sound.

the fazor technology or are they still shipping older stock?

If i do order from them what's the quickest way to check if mine has fazors? Thanks!!

Why not just ask Dr. Woo?

You are right, it was not on my box. "Fazor Edition" was on my receipt. Nothing on the box indicating Fazor.

All you need to know is if the serial number starts 271 then it is an LCD-3F. Maybe the serial is on the outside of the packaging.

I think we also need a new designation, because a few people have said how different a LCD-3F sounds to an LCD-3C, but don't say which LCD-3C they have. For example, "many" that start with serial 231 had different drivers and materials used to later 231 and 261 units. I think we need an LCD-3EC (early classic) to indicate those.

Dude you are awesome.. I don't know how old you are but going out and dancing is something you should never be afraid of. I've seen people of all ages at my techno / house shows that I attend pretty much weekly. It's a good feeling being part of the music; however, as an audiophile, most PA systems are pretty disappointing to me. That's why your basement seems so cool!!! A real audiophile system in your basement with a horn-loaded bass fart cannon! That's the cat's meow -- or should i say -- the lion's roar? Peace yourself! Tell me what amazing record you discover please, I'd like to know and listen!! Have a good one brother

Not really, there are some late 261s that are actually the new revision.

I know that...but if its a 261, then the box has to be opened and the drivers felt with fingers! If it's 271 then you can be sure without opening the box! So if someone is looking for a fazor version specifically, they can simply look for a seller with the 271 prefix and be sure about what they are buying.

Yeap, true smily_headphones1.gif
I was just a bit curios since he initially said that his box had Fazor revision on it smily_headphones1.gif

Now that you mention it, I actually just looked and if you have even decent light you can see see the triangular structures straight through the grill cloth. Cool!

Some thoughts on the X vs. the LCD3(c) or (f). Having owned the LCD3(c) and now the X, I absolutely love the X but then I loved the 3(c) as well. It is pretty obvious the X has less coloration to the dark side than does the 3; and better air/treble sparkle which is what I was looking for. It is also obvious that it would be perfectly understandable that some would prefer the presentation of the classic 3 over the X. So it really comes down to the personal preference of presentation of the individual. For me, the X ticks ALL the boxes of how I would like to hear the music presented and rendered. It would be very interesting to compare the X with the 3(f) new driver version. However I feel like I have finally reached the pinnacle of headphones performance for my taste in presentation (more neutral with excellent bass, staging, detail rendering, treble sparkle, mids, etc.) for the amount of money I am willing to spend. To go further into the realm of extreme performance from here would be many thousands more spent and realistically what I have now is perfectly awesome. This is where I wanted to be when I started with the Beyer DT990s, then LCD 2r2, then LCD3(c) then LCD-X. BUT if one desired the creamy and darker presentation of the 3(c) then it would be hard to beat the LCD3(c). Far as I am concerned the X is perfect. YMMV of course...
