Shortage or new config.  Doubt new driver but they are continuously changing the dampening so who knows.

I have leather free LCD-3 in stock. Ill probably end up sending it to audeze to convert it to leather. I talked to Alex yesterday and the shortage gas nothing to do with a new model

Why do you think it mean's there's going to be a new model? I bought mine new a few month's ago. It seemed everyone was out of them. I contacted  Audeze directly and I was told they were waiting for a shipment of parts. If there is a difference in next years model then I certainly hope we can upgrade our existing headphones. But, the only talk I have heard as to a new model is that they may be coming out with a new closed back headphone.. Also, I do not believe headphones made during that time of shortage used inferior parts. Happy listening everyone.

The way it always works is, as soon as you buy it, a new model or rev is released right afterwards. ;)

With all respect I understand Murphy's Law but I would like to know the source of where this information comes from?

As I said, I heard there will be a new headphone from Audeze but it will be a closed back design. No worries though because any improvement on the LCD3 will be next to negligible in my opinon. It's already a fantastic headphone.

I haven't heard of any plans to revise or upgrade the LCD-3, if so that's great but what was said was in jest... I think blink.gif

Yeah, they are probably busy working on R&D for the closed model. I've been told no new LCD-3 is in the works or anything and the shortage is just due to Audeze waiting on parts or something. When those parts come in, I suppose we can expect to see them available and in stock again.

You guys saw the tin foil hat part of the comment right?  Just being funny.  If they say no change... no change.

For the record Murphy's Law = "Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong".

Nothing to do with obsolescence.

No imagination... The Law can applied to many applications. It isn't completely cut and dry per the definition.

Also obsolescence means something was not in working order or unwanted, which also doesn't apply to the LCD-3.
