Audeze LCD-3 Appreciation Thread - Page 33

I have the Q also, and it's very nice (I used it and loved it on my LCD2s too).

Somehow the Silver Dragon adds some needed presence and control without hardness. 

The Silver is also my favorite on my HE500.

Interesting.  I felt it flattened dynamics too much and inserted some unwanted grain in comparison to the Q.  Huh.

With the Q and the stock cables, there was some sibilance, or over-the-top highs that could stand out from a high-pitched vocal, and maybe that could be interpreted as dynamics.

I certainly hear no grain with the Silver.

I'm going to try toxic cable's new silver widow cable for my LCD3 and will post a comparison once I have it in hand. I've heard really positive impressions of this pairing and cannot wait to give them a go with my set up.

If anyone is interested in LCD-3's for Christmas, I've made a tough choice and am deciding to let them go. As a student, I don't think it's very wise for me to own three flagship headphones, and well; the LCD-3 being the priciest will help bring back some funds.

 

Check my classifieds, I'd like to sell it before next week as things will be a bit hectic.

 

I don't mean to hijack this thread, but it may help someone who's searching for one.

 

My heart warmed up a lot to the headphone, but I still don't think it's the one for me.

Awesome and Saturday delivery before Xmas

The LCD3s sometimes exert some pressure on the front portion of the pads, on my temples.

Do the Vegan pads help with this feeling at all? (Or any other pads?)

Does wear on the pads increase this? Thanks.

The LCD-3 pads are more comfortable and distribute pressure more evenly than the vegan.

 

Haven't tried other pads.

OK, thanks Paradoxper.  Maybe I should just get fresh pads. Are they easy to change does anyone know?

Your pads can't be that worn, no? Pads are easy. Audeze has a crappy instructional.

A lot of it is going to do with the shape of your head, glasses, etc.  I prefer the firmer LCD-2 pads overall because the front has less give.  The LCD-3 crushes right down to the wood up front on my head.  Its not terrible but if they ever release even pads... I'd be all over those.

 

Hooray!!!!!! for you Prep. Now you must be a good little HFier. Wrap them and do not open for another 36 hours or so.
