im new to the server/computer side of lossy audio. Im researching, buying and learning as I go with regards to amps/dacs etc
but it appears that not only is USB problematic with regards to sampling rates, clock issues, jitter etc, and most of the USB/spdif/coaxial converters are very expensive for the actual components involved (not disavowing the costs of actual intellectual property)
but with most onboard motherboards having coaxial outputs, even sounds cards as cheap as so the D2X also having coaxial
why isnt the standard interface just coaxial for computer side audio?
I know laptops are always a consideration, but if the consumer demanded this, it seems more manufacturer's would head this way
is there any inherent plus to using USB or something that im missing?
thanks for the help
