Equalizer Settings for Rock Music on the Shure940?

I'm enjoying these.  The detail is very nice, a lot nicer then my old hd555s even though my shure940s aren't being driven properly yet.  The only problem I'm having with them, is that, while I'm listening to rock music, such as bon jovi, the guitar is always a little laid back.  While gaming, all the metalic sounds are also a little laid back.  What equalizer setting should I use to bring the higher end a little more forward without all that drum smear.

Cheers on help.

I have, but never bothered to really give it a try.  I have a crappy usb soundcard (which just also happens to be better then onboard) and I upped the 2k-4k by 5-1 db and the guitars came forward a lot.  These headphones are incredible now (from what I'm used to anyways).  Going to get a proper dac/amp combo soon for them.

What's your budget, music preferences, for a DAC/amp?

I listen to mainly rock music.  I have 200 CAD at a local tech box store.  Options there are very limited.  So I was thinking of grabbing the Creative HD USB.
