with the AD900 i was just too analytical with it, couldn't sit back and enjoy. But the Q701, its just perfect.

Good to hear!  Some people don't like a headphone like that since it's "unengaging" to them so I was wondering if you're the same way.

I feel like the K702 (similar to the Q701) was extremely detailed with expansive sound stage yet still laid-back sounding.  It was my perfect match in that price range.  Enjoy!

Only gripe is that through the amp the main vocals/instruments are a tiny bit distant, but hopefully that will change when it burns in more.

It's been my experience that tubes can take up to 100 hours to finally stabilize their sound.
