"Grados Lab' Ring ideas

Thread Starter

The rings around my sr80i's that say 'The prestige series' and 'Grados Labs' fell off, and the paint is worn thin on the lettering. Does anyone have any ideas for something that I could replace those with?

I was thinking either a thin wooden veneer or maybe some decorative plastic.

If anyone has done this or seen people do it, help would be greatly appreciated!

Have you contacted Grado referring to new cups or a replacement set?

With all the mods I've done to em so far, I don't think they'd let em get replacements haha but I'll check just to be sure!

For anyone that was wondering, I sanded down all the lettering and applied a coat of white point to the entire ring. Ill wait for that to dry and put on some nitrocellulose lacquer for prevented scratching and extra sheen!

This was on Headwize.  Sanded smooth.  Looked pretty, good.  Scroll about half way down the page.  You could inlay a thin wood veneer like you said.  Just have to sand the letters down first.
