New Headphones - Ideas??

Hi I am gonna treat myself to some high end headphones.

 

I currently own the Alessandro MS2i  but i want something to complement and to better them.

 

I currently am toying with the idea of buying the Denon AH-D7000 as i hear they are great for rock music.

 

I enjoyed my Beyerdynamic DT770 a few years ago and love closed headphones.

 

Are there any other phones i should consider? Open or Closed it does not matter.

 

Current ideas are:

 

AKG Q701s

Denon ah-d7000

Grado RS1i

 

 

Would these blow my MS2i's away ??

 Need to be a little more specific there - do you want to compliment them with a different

 signature? or you do want the same vein but better?

 

 RS1i is the logical next step if you want the same flavor with more refinement. MS Pro

 if you really wanted to stick the same flavor actually.

 

 Q701, Beyer DT990-600ohm, D7000, various Ultrasones, HD650 would be contenders

 for an alternative flavor that are completely different.
