IE8's are great, but so are W4R's and SE535's.
For bus and train you might want something more isolating. As much as I love the IE8, they don't isolate at all and are pretty dreadful outdoors.
Well he also doesn't have $450 to spend on entry level customs ($400 for customs, $50 for audiologist appointment).
Price of IE8 is 240$ and SE315 200$
So do you think shure is better choice for traveling? Isn't 160 cm cable too long?
Thanks guys for reaction :}
Shure IMO would be better because of fit and all the tips you can experiment with. You could always get an aftermarket cable which you can get any size you'd like.
But from the sound quality part the IE8s are superior. But if you can get the IE80 skip the IE8 as the IE80 is superior to the IE8. No midbass hump ruining the sound. No cloudy mids. For isolation the Shures are better but not in sound quality.
Ok and is it huge improv for my by d-jays to se315? Is the big difference bettwen sound quality of ie8 and se315 or just a little bit?
I'd say it's a big difference. Not only that but the majority of IE8 owners who also owned the SE530s found the IE8 superior. Just check out the number of people who own the IE8 and look at how many own the SE530/535. There's a big discrepancy between the two. Shure has always been an overpriced brand. I would never pay over $300.00 for a brand new SE530/535 simply because they are not worth the price IMO. I found the Sennheiser IE7 superior to the SE530 so to each his own.
ok lets look at the big picture. if you want isolation the shures do it a bit better, however... dont be put off with all this talk that the IE8 isolation is terrible because it isnt, it does isolate and with music playing you wont be too fussed at all you will forget all about the isolation. the IE8 is superior in every way, not only sound wise but the design and construction is excellent aswell, the cable is one of the best in the game without i think even meaning to be, its just made of the right material, light, strong, replaceable and transfers practically no noise, shure cables by nature have always been thicker and of high quality but tend to be a little heavier.
the actual earpiece of both models are excellent, looking at pictures of these earphones does not tell the full story i found the IE8 to fit flusher in the ear, the shures stuck out a bit more but they do have an amazing tip selection, the IE8 tip selection is epic but mostly useless it will take time to find the right ones. double flanged mediums work perfect for me but single flanges were shocking and i can see why people have isolation problems using these as they are thin and well... crap.
what you have to take into account is that the IE8 is on the same tier as high end earphones like se530/535, UE triple fi 10, westone 3 etc etc, the shures would be classed as middle class i guess, it will give you excellent sound but one day you will wonder what else the se535's offer, the IE8 is regarded as the flagship IEM for sennheiser at the moment, they regard it as their best offering at this time alongside the IE80.
it isnt a hard choice really, the IE8 is worth the extra to be honest, and being dynamic driver it is tuff as old boots and wont need to be babied as much as the shures.
Couldn't have said it better my self jinkx :). I know there are a few Shure trolls (one I particularly know) and would always put the Shure first even though its crap in comparison to the IE8. (lol). The fact that most people will consider the IE8 better than the Shure flagship tells you something. Don't waste your money and just pick up the IE8. But if you can get the IE80 for that price, skip the IE8 and get the IE80, you won't need EQ period ;).

Ok guys Thanks you so much. So IE8 is the winner :}}
Just learn to use EQ and she will treat you right ;)
Ok and what about equalizer? I have cowon i9. Is the best for IE8 flat equalizer?
Well generally Cowons have the best EQ so be sure to use the EQ to get the sound you want. I generally don't recommend EQ up but EQ down on the mid bass and bass can help a lot. But I hear some people EQ up and are happy with the sound. So do what sounds best to you. :)
