Drivers for K701 - Page 2

Burn In Period.

Hook them up to a stereo receiver in your closet or in another room where the sound won't disturb anyone and just let them play with some continuous music for a few days. Every few hours turn the volume up a bit or down and just give the drivers time to 'settle'

Ok the possible problems here are:

Anything on youtube will sound "bad" out of those AKGs since youtube is highly compressed. Try a CD.

You probably aren't driving them well with the onboard soundcard. If you want something cheapish get a fiio e10 or a Xonar DX (this is most likely the problem).

You don't like the sound signature, if you listen to electronic music it will make it sound "fake" as in you will know it was made with an electronic instrument/PC.

I doubt its related to burn-in.  The effects of that should be subtle.  Burn-in won't change them from sounding like garbage to amazing.

Your saying they sound better out of your ipod then your PC?  That sounds like your pc soundcard is messed up or super crappy.  Test them with some other sources besides your PC.

I would second getting an E10 if your PC soundcard is crap.
