Hi all! Could anyone explain to me why some cheap sony (no name) earbuds that i use on a plane (in the seats audio socket) sound normal but a set of atomic floyd dual driver iems sound really distorted? Just tried the same thing plugging into my pc and it has the same effect.

the only thing i can think of is that you may have killed your drivers by pumping too much power into it, because the problem happens with your PC also

I've found that most in-flight audio is pretty distorted to begin with (and overly loud to boot as ijchan223 stated), so it's likely the Atomic Floyd is just doing a much better job of revealing the quality (or lack thereof) of the audio.

Since they do work on your phone, try adjusting the audio output of your computer to different settings.

for my PC, the sound is distorted when it is set to HQ ( 24bit @ 192kHz)
